HKD Energy is a non-profit social enterprise formed to develop renewable energy projects in and around our villages of Hassocks, Hurstpierpoint, Keymer and Ditchling.
As well as financial returns to investors, community-owned projects provide a ‘social dividend’, now and in the future by:
- Helping to build a low-carbon energy system
- Tackling climate change
- Creating a better future for our children and grandchildren.
HKD Energy Limited is a Community Benefit Society, registered with the Financial Conduct Authority. Our five directors are local people, all volunteers.
Downlands Community School Solar Energy Project
HKD Energy’s first share launch in 2014 gave residents the chance to invest in a solar energy project on the roof of Downlands School. Shareholders are full voting members of HKD Energy, and receive 4% interest annually, as well as having their original investment repaid in full over the life of the project.
Investors in HKD Energy help create a better future for our children and grandchildren by addressing climate change and increasing energy security.
